This journey has been a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with both challenges and triumphs. It’s a story that underscores the importance of empathy, inclusivity, and drawing strength from one’s past experiences.

Township Roots: The Vessel of Empathy

I grew up in a township, where life was a daily struggle against limited resources, economic disparities, and a lack of access to the technology that has become ever-present in our lives today. Those early experiences forged my character and instilled in me a profound sense of empathy for those who continue to face similar hurdles in the digital age.

The Lesson of Inclusion: Learning from the Past

As I advanced in the world of UX/UI design, I began to understand the pivotal role of representation and inclusion.

My township upbringing taught me that diversity in design is not just a nice-to-have; it’s an absolute necessity.

I carried with me the memory of the vibrant, diverse community I grew up in, and it became the guiding star of my design philosophy.

Today, as the Principal Design Lead of our practice, I have made it my mission to prioritize accessibility. I recall the frustration of slow internet connections and the limitations of older devices, and it fuels my commitment to ensure our digital products are universally usable.
